Our journey began with a shared love of surfing. For nearly a decade — ten sunlit circles around Bali — we lived our dream through Baruna Surf Culture, guiding students to hidden breaks and creating friendships that lasted beyond the lineup.

Irene always carried a vision: to create a Boutique Retreat with an Ocean-Inspired atmosphere — bright rooms, thoughtfully designed, functional, and comfy. More than just a stay, it’s a community-minded Getaway, where Hospitality and Togetherness come first.

Adi, whose dream was to become an Architect, poured his creativity and dedication into the project. Together we designed every corner with care, and from an old, retired Boat we bought, our vision set Sail and became reality with the help of Adi’s father and a local building team.

Adi — with his Balinese roots in the neighboring village of Kedungu — and Irene — with her Swiss sense for precision and hospitality — created a place where local craftsmanship meets western comfort — truly the best of both worlds. In 2018, we opened the doors to what is now Seaside Tribe.
